A letter for tough days

Dear me,

Hi. I’m just writing to remind you (me, us) how wonderful
and kind
and gentle
and soft
and sweet
and loving
and faithful
a bringer of peace
you are.

You need to be reminded today, so I’m doing just that. Speaking truth into your tender heart.

You need to be reminded that the world can be tough and harsh and insensitive, but that is exactly why it needs you. There is room enough for both the harsh realities of life and insensitive/selfish moments of people and you.

Don’t join with the hard. Smile.

Don’t let the edges of your heart toughen with the blows. Recognize them, accept the truth that they may contain and reject the lies.

Remember these truths right now. Speak them out loud so that our ears can hear the sweet truth and allow us once again to bask in the warm rays of love.

1. The God of the universe will RENEW you.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;  they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

2. The one true God LOVES you and CARES for you.
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Matthew 6:26

3. God crowns you with COMPASSION. He HEALS and FORGIVES you!
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,” Psalm 103

4. God SEEKS after you.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

5. God KNOWS you.
” You have searched me, Lordand you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.  Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.” Psalm 139:1-5
